GRANT DISTRBUTION

The Zonta Club of Kitchener Waterloo distributed funds raised at the 2022 Betty Thompson Golf Classic and the 2022 Zonta Film Festival on October 19, 2022.  Over $70,000 was distributed to the following organizations:

St. Mary's Hospital Foundation                     $  7,000

Grand River Hospital Foundation                 $  7,000

HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre            $12,000

Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation $10,500

Sexual Assault Support Centre(WR)              $  4,000

Children Witness Centre                                $  5,000

Women's Crisis Services of WR                     $10,000

Shelter Movers                                                $  2,000

Zonta International Service Projects             $11,750

Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship$  1,000

GRANT APPLICATION

 

​Throughout the year, we work together to organize events that are interesting and fun.  The funds we raise from these events are used to support projects that empower women and girls both locally and globally.  

Internationally we support projects sponsored by Zonta Foundation for Women

Not for profit and charitable organizations in Kitchener Waterloo, with local projects that support and empower women and girls, are encourage to apply for a grant.

Grant Applications for 2023 are now closed.

Check back again in early 2024 to apply for our 2024 grants. 

 

The Zonta Club of Kitchener-Waterloo is seeking applications for grants to be awarded from the Zonta Club International Film Festival Funds or from the Zonta Club Betty Thompson Golf Classic Funds.  Grants will be issued for activities that are focused on empowering women.

 

Organizations which are eligible for grants are ones which:

  1. Provide services that benefit women in the Kitchener-Waterloo community;

  2. Make services available without discrimination as described by the Ontario Human Rights Code

  3. Issue an annual report which includes financial statements;

  4. Complete the Zonta Club's grant application with a full outline, including projected costs, of the project for which the grant is being requested and,

  5. Undertake to provide a full report on the project when it is completed, if requested.

 

Grants will not be provided for:

  1. Professional growth opportunities for staff of the organization unless specifically related to the proposal, or

  2. Ongoing administration costs of an organization.
